Natural Awareness Festival

Natural Awareness Festival is a one-day outdoor event that aims to raise local awareness of environmental issues and inspire action to enjoy and protect the outdoors. By offering performances, games, crafts, and interactive activities this educational event will be a fun day for the entire family.

Local favorite and Chief Meteorologist of WPDE, Ed Piotrowski, will be opening the day and introducing speakers such as Cheryl Coleman (Conservation and Sustainability Director at the EPA), Doug Elliot (naturalist, author and storyteller) and Sarah Lyle (Director of Palmetto Pride). Children and adults will enjoy interacting with animals from Alligator Adventure, Five Star Petting Zoo, as well as Charleston, SC’s Birds of Prey flight demonstration. Various state environmental organizations will provide information and interactive activities such as scavenger hunts, contests, crafts and games. Live music will be performed throughout the event and food vendors like Benito’s Brick Oven Pizza will be available for guests to purchase.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11 am to 3 pm at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex in the Meadow and Amphitheater. This is a free event open to the public and all ages are encouraged to attend.

The City of North Myrtle Beach and Environmental Sculptures are hosting the Natural Awareness Festival for all city citizens to enjoy the outdoors and learn about their local environment.
