2026 Special Election Candidates & Information

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Municipal Election Commission of the City of North Myrtle Beach, SC announces the Special Election for the City of North Myrtle Beach to be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026.


The Special Election will fill the unexpired term for the Crescent Beach Ward, which became vacant following the November 2025 election. This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot. 


Every registered voter who lives in the city limits of North Myrtle Beach is able to vote in this special election on February 24, 2026 at a respective polling location. 


The following candidates will be included in this election for the Crescent Beach Ward:


  • Ray Collins
  • Melissa Wober


Office: One seat for Council Member Crescent Beach Ward

Term: March 2026 - November 2027 (Unexpired Term)


At the close of the polls, the North Myrtle Beach Municipal Election Commission will count the absentee ballots at City Hall.


The Commission will meet at North Myrtle Beach City Hall at 10:00 AM on Thursday,

February 26, 2026, to certify the election and determine the validity of ballots challenged in the election. 


Any runoff will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.


Early Voting: The early voting period starts on Monday, February 9, 2026, and ends Friday, February 20, 2026 (closed on Saturday and Sunday). Early voting will take place at the Horry County Voter Registration Office, located at 1515 4th Avenue, Conway, S.C. 29526. Their hours are 8:30 AM to 5 PM. 


Register to Vote Deadline:

In person registration to vote at Horry County Board of Voter Registration & Elections in Conway will end on January 23, 2026.

The following precincts and polling locations will be open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM:

Cherry Grove 1 Precinct-Chapel by the Sea Church (1051 Sea Mtn. Highway)

Cherry Grove 2 Precinct-Fire Station #4 (5345 Little River Neck Rd.)

Crescent Beach Precinct-J. Bryan Floyd Community Center (1030 Possum Trot Rd.)

Dunes 1 Precinct-Temporary-Barefoot Resort Conference Ctr (2250 Premier Resort Blvd.)

Nixons 1 Precinct-North Myrtle Beach High School (3750 Sea Mountain Hwy, Little River)

Ocean Drive 1 Precinct-Fire Station #1 (1015 2nd Ave. South)

Ocean Drive 2 Precinct-NMB Historical Museum (799 2nd Ave. North)

Ocean Drive 3 Precinct-St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (801 11th Ave. North)

Tilly Swamp-Temporary-Barefoot Resort Conference Ctr (2250 Premier Resort Blvd.)

Wampee Precinct-Riverside Elementary School (1283 Hwy 57 South, Little River)

Windy Hill 1 Precinct-Windy Hill Fire Station #3 (801 33rd Ave. South)

Windy Hill 2 Precinct-Barefoot Resort Conference Ctr (2250 Premier Resort Blvd.)


The winning candidate of the Special Election will have their Oath of Office at the first council meeting after the certification of the election: Monday, March 2, 2026.
