December 2025: Beach Renourishment Update

City of North Myrtle Beach News Posted on December 10, 2025

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C: The City of North Myrtle Beach, in coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, continues its preparations for the upcoming beach renourishment project. As part of this effort, the street end of Sea Mountain Highway has been designated as the primary staging and mobilization area for materials, piping, and heavy equipment.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will utilize the former Pelican Motel property to stage project materials, while the City will use the 7th Avenue South street end to store additional equipment necessary for the operation.

Residents and visitors are urged to follow all on-site instructions when accessing the beach near the staging area. Please remain alert for heavy machinery and adhere to posted guidance to ensure your safety and that of the crews working in the area.

Beach renourishment is an essential investment in the long-term health and resilience of our shoreline. This project plays a critical role in protecting our beaches and supporting their continued recovery and stability.
