NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The City of North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center (AFC) is excited to announce plans for a 31,000 -square-foot expansion and renovation to its existing facility — a project designed to meet the growing needs of the North Myrtle Beach community.
With over 5,200 current memberships and continuous growth in youth programs including after-school activities, and summer camps, this expansion is not only a want but a need for the community.
The additional space will include:
- 4,000 sq. ft. fitness room addition with a dedicated stretch area
- An additional aerobics room
- Expansion and modernization of the men’s and women’s locker rooms
- Boys’ and girls’ locker rooms
- A new gymnasium
- Dedicated spaces for youth programs and outdoor fitness
- Additional parking
“The Aquatic and Fitness Center has been a cornerstone of health, wellness, and connection in our community for years. We’re incredibly excited about this expansion, which will allow us to serve even more members and continue inspiring active, healthy lifestyles for generations to come.” said Director of Parks and Recreation, Matt Gibbons.
The AFC currently offers more than 100 fitness classes per week, personal training, swim lessons, and a wide variety of youth programming — making it a place for everyone in the family.
In celebration of the AFC’s 20th Anniversary, the Center will offer a special promotion from Monday, November 3 through Saturday, November 15. During this time, the annual joining fee will be waived for all new annual memberships — the perfect opportunity to join the AFC community and start your journey toward health and wellness.
