Golf cart Use Map

  • Golf carts must display SC permit sticker. Available at any SC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office or through the SC DMV website
  • Must be driven by a licensed driver
  • Allowed on secondary roadways only
  • May cross primary roads (Ocean Boulevard, 27th S, Highway 17 or Sea Mountain Highway)
  • Must obey all State traffic laws
  • Seating capacity cannot be exceeded
  • Permitted golf carts may only be operated on secondary roads within the City of North Myrtle Beach with a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour or less between the hours of sunrise and sunset
  • The State Law requires that children under the age of 12 must wear a seat belt when riding in a golf cart on a public road
