Russell Burgess Coastal Preserve
In-Town Directions
There is a traffic signal two blocks west of the ocean on Sea Mountain Highway at the intersection of Duffy Street and Sea Mountain. Turn north at the signal and go 1 ½ miles to 36th Avenue north. The Preserve is located on the left along the creek.
About the Coastal Preserve
Named for a former City Councilman devoted to preservation and maintenance of the marsh, the Preserve is a scenic overview of the picturesque Cherry Grove Marsh. Created in 2004, the park provides paved parking and foot access to the inlet. A boardwalk was added in 2009 to maintain important Cherry Grove Marsh habitat. Please be aware that fishing and crabbing are permitted from ground level but not from the pier structure.
