North Myrtle Beach is a coastal city located in Horry County, South Carolina. As of 2021, the city is roughly 22 square miles and has a year-round population of about 22,000 residents. North Myrtle Beach is a popular vacation location and the population swells to over 150,000 people during the summer months. North Myrtle Beach offers its tourists and locals a vast array of amazing dining, shopping, recreation, sports tourism, and 9 miles of beautiful beach. The North Myrtle Beach Police Department was organized in 1968. Currently the department is staffed with 90 Police Officers, 26 Dispatch/Detention Officers, and 11 civilian employees. The Department has 7 Divisions that each fall under the direction of Police Lieutenants.
