Public Safety Recommendations
- Be aware that hazardous road conditions will continue overnight Thursday into Friday morning. If you must be on the roads, exercise extreme caution and stay alert to your surroundings.
- As temperatures begin to rise above freezing, be mindful to check for exterior water leaks as pipes begin to thaw.
- Continue using safe approved heating methods to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning or fire hazards. Reminder: Ovens are not recommended to be utilized to assist in heating a home. Gas ovens create a greater carbon monoxide risk. Electric ovens create greater fire hazard when on for long periods of time.
- Bring pets inside to keep them safe from the extreme cold. If outdoor shelter is necessary, provide warm, dry bedding and access to fresh, unfrozen water.
The City encourages residents and visitors to stay informed and follow the public safety recommendations.
