NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The City of North Myrtle Beach is inviting residents, property owners, and managers to participate in a new Short-Term Rental Community Survey designed to better understand community experiences and concerns surrounding short-term rentals (STRs) in the City.
The brief, 10-minute survey is open now through the month of August and will help guide the City's ongoing work to evaluate STRs and consider future policy options. Feedback collected will support efforts to balance neighborhood quality of life, tourism, and property rights.
To complement the survey, the City will host a Short-Term Rental Information Gathering Session for STR owners and managers on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The event will be held at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center. The session will allow owners and managers to share feedback, ask questions, and hear perspectives throughout the community .
“We had a strong response at our first community session, and we want to continue gathering input from all sides,” said James Wood, Director of Planning & Development. “The goal is to ensure that any future decisions reflect a thoughtful balance that works for North Myrtle Beach.”
