CANDIDATE FILING FOR THE CITY’S NOVEMBER 2 ELECTION OPENS THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, AT 12:00 PM AT CITY HALL
The Municipal Election Commission of the City of North Myrtle Beach, SC announces the election for the City of North Myrtle Beach to be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021. This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.
The following offices are included in this election:
-- Mayor -- November 2021-November 2025
-- Council Member At-Large -- November 2021-November 2025
-- Council Member Ocean Drive Ward -- November 2021-November 2025
-- Council Member Windy Hill Ward -- November 2021-November 2025
Citizens desiring to be candidates for the offices listed above may file with the City Clerk at the North Myrtle Beach City Hall, 1018 Second Avenue South. Books open for filing on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 12:00 pm and remain open during regular business hours until 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The City's regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm.
The filing fee for the office of Mayor is $150.00 and $75.00 for the office of Council Member.
QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates for office must be qualified electors: Residents of North Myrtle Beach, registered voters, and 18 years of age or older.
INSTRUCTIONS
The following forms must be completed and filed by 12:00 pm on September 2, 2021: Statement of Candidacy, Candidates Roster.
When filing, candidates must bring with them their driver’s license with their current address, voter registration card, and payment for the filing fee.
The Statement of Economic Interest Form & Campaign Disclosure Forms must be filed electronically with the State Ethics Commission by the filing deadlines, as stated on the forms and online at https://ethics.sc.gov
