AN EASIER WAY TO FIND THE NEW FEMA FLOOD MAPS FOR NORTH MYRTLE BEACHFinding the new Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) flood maps for North Myrtle Beach via the agency’s website is proving to be a challenge for many people.
The City’s Planning & Development Department has made it easier for North Myrtle Beach property owners to access the new flood maps, which go into effect on December 16, 2021.
To find all of the new North Myrtle Beach flood maps in one location, please visit
https://www.nmb.us/356/Flood-Information. Click on “Index Panel 450551CINDOB”, then find the map panel number that best reflects the general location of your property. Exit the Index Panel, then click on the map panel number for your property location, and determine your flood zone status.
If the link does not work for you, please visit
https://www.nmb.us/, enter “flood information” into the search bar at the top of the home page, and then click on “flood information” in the list of choices provided to you.
The City does not create the flood maps but it does participate in FEMA's Community Rating System, which has generally resulted in a 20% discount on flood insurance premiums for North Myrtle Beach property owners.
