The South Carolina Beach Advocates’ 10th Anniversary Annual Meeting, hosted Monday, January 29 to Wednesday, January 31, will be held in North Myrtle Beach.
The South Carolina Beach Advocates is a non-profit organization of mayors and administrators of South Carolina’s beach communities with a mission to educate the public, governmental authorities, and elected officials to the value of our state’s beaches and inlets.
Attendees will hear from esteemed speakers including Governor McMaster, State Senators and Representatives, as well as representatives from the US Army Corps of Engineers, DHEC Office of Ocean & Coastal Resource Management, SC Parks Recreation & Tourism, mayors & administrators of beach communities, and more. This special Annual Meeting will commemorate coastal resilience efforts over the past 10 years and share future goals and plans.
The South Carolina Beach Advocates aim to inspire and support the next generation of coastal preservation leaders. Students are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting and take in all that South Carolina’s beach and inlet management leaders and administrators have to offer. Some benefits for academic involvement include cultivating research collaborations, learning about and meaningfully contributing to state policies and issues, and diversifying professional networks.
