NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The City of North Myrtle Beach plans to rebid the Barefoot Swing Bridge sidewalk removal and replacement project during Summer 2024. The anticipated start date is November 2024, and the project would take an estimated 6 - 8 weeks to complete.
Three contractors have indicated interest in bidding, subject to their availability and workload. The City will check with SCDOT for additional potential bidders.
The City has received a Modified Opening Schedule from the United States Coast Guard (November 2024 - February 2025). This schedule is the best timing due to lower roadway and waterway traffic.
The City will continue with evaluation of the SCDOT structural inspection and subsequent emergency vehicle restriction.
