NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Earlier this month, the North Myrtle Beach Fire Department's Community Risk Reduction Officer, Andrew West, proudly accepted the 2023 Fire Safe SC designation at the Annual State Firefighters Conference. This marks the department's fourth consecutive year being recognized for this prestigious achievement.
Chief Billy Floyd states, "The true success of our Fire Department is not just how we respond to emergencies, but also how we work to educate our citizens and visitors and how they can help in reducing the impacts and risks of emergencies from occurring in the first place. I am proud of the efforts by our Fire Marshal’s Office, our Community Risk Reduction program, as well as the support each and every one of our Firefighters put in to help achieve a safer community for all.”
